Make Article Marketing Work for You

Article marketing is possibly one of the most effective, free methods of advertising your online business available. What could be easier than writing a few articles, adding them to a free directory and sitting back to watch the traffic roll in? Unfortunately, it is not quite that simple. In fact, you will need some strategies if you plan to actually make your articles work for you. This article covers several methods to take full advantage of article marketing for your business.

First of all, the kind of article that you write determines the majority of your success. If you turn out a 2,000 word essay on your niche, it is very unlikely that anyone will pick it up. Likewise, a 250 word piece of fluff won’t be going anywhere either! In order to be effective, the perfect promotional article needs to be around 400-600 words long, the preferred length by webmasters and ezine publishers alike.

Your article should offer good information. After all, if you just blather on about nothing in particular, why would anyone want to buy your product or visit your website? On the other hand, if you give solid tips and leave them drooling for more, you will end up with a lot more visitors to your site!

The next thing to consider is your resource box. Most resource boxes are boring and no one even bothers to read them, let alone click on the links contained within it. The trick is to make your resource box grab your reader by the throat and make him desperate to learn more! For example, instead of writing, “John Doe is an affiliate guru who lives in California. For more affiliate info, check out his website . . . .” Why not put something like “If you aren’t earning $100 a day, you are missing out! Get what you deserve at www. . . . .” See how much more interesting the second one was?

Once you have a great article and a catchy resource box, what do you do? Submit to every directory you can find, right? Wrong. The best way to get your articles noticed is not to submit them to any directory at all. In fact, you will be far better off aiming for specific websites and ezines. Choose one or two websites that are most likely to publish your article and approach them directly. Let them know that you have an exclusive article for them that you will allow to be published free, as long as they include the resource box.

Highly targeted markets can be far better for bringing in traffic than random ones who pick up your article in a directory. This is because your article will be in front of thousands of people who are actually interested in your content. Also, if the article goes out in an ezine, people will respect it as a recommendation from the list owner and are more likely to click on your link.

By following these tips, you can boost the effectiveness of your article marketing drastically. It is worth taking the time to write a high quality article, add a great resource box and then market it to specifically targeted websites. Success is only a matter time!

Itchy Scalp and Hair Dyes – Why Your Hair Dye is Burning Your Scalp

What’s The Link Between Itchy Scalp and Hair Dyes?

Hair dyes can cause allergic reactions, typically resulting in a red, burning itchy scalp. This problem can usually be dealt with fairly easily if action is taken early on, when you first notice some irritation or something simply not quite right with your scalp.

Unfortunately many folks don’t always know the link between their itchy scalp and hair dyes, or they will buy special shampoos and conditioners to treat their condition without realising that many of these big name products contain very harsh chemicals that can aggravate and even worsen your tender itchy scalp condition.

So What’s In A Hair Dye?

Typically the nastiest culprit of an itchy scalp and hair dyes problem is the chemical Phenylenediamine (PPD). This is known as a contact allergen, and can result in a nasty itchy scalp…or in doctor-speak, sensitisation dermatitis. It absorbs itself into the skin causing serious irritation. If inhaled it can cause throat irritation, and bronchial asthma, and in extreme cases has led to blindness from contact with the eyes.

It is often found in many hair dyes, as well as leather dyes, fur dyes, various printer inks and photographic products. Some manufacturers of these products have explicitly stated that PPD should not be used directly on the skin, however most manufacturers of PPD often do not do the same, and neglect to tell the consumer and end-user the dangers associated with this compound.

Other harmful chemicals found in hair dyes include Hydrogen Peroxideand Ammonia. Most off-the-shelf brands of hair dyes and even some gentler salon hair dyes contain one or more of these chemicals.

What Can We Do To Solve The Itchy Scalp and Hair Dyes Problem?

First of all, I would advise that the next time you go to a salon, ask for a “sensitive scalp” hair dye. There are many brands which are NOT harmful and can leave your hair in much healthier condition due to their gentler active ingredients and conditioning properties.

Second, make sure you’re using a natural pH-balanced shampoo, that doesn’t contain the harmful chemicals like Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLS) and Propylene Glycol. These will only serve to aggravate your itchy scalp problem.

How to Use Article Marketing to Create Instant Traffic to Your Site

Article marketing is one of my favorite ways to create traffic that I don’t have to pay for! Let’s define exactly what article marketing is and then take a look at what you need to do to be successful at it.

Article marketing is the process of writing 400 – 600 word articles about tightly focused, keyword rich themes and uploading them to various article directories.

I could actually write a whole course on how to write a good article for internet marketing purposes. I’m not going to do that here, obviously, but I will give you some tips on how to write these articles.

To do this right you need a good list of keyword phrases for your site. There are several free resources on the web that you can create your keywords from, or you can do what the professionals do-get a WordTracker account. Once you know what keyword phrases you are targeting, you’re ready to start cranking out articles.

Let’s talk about how to do that efficiently.

Let’s say, for the sake of an example, our keyword was “housebreaking Yorkies”.

The first thing I do when I sit down to write a few articles is make a list of titles. Using our keyword phrase, I might come up with something like the following.

  • Tips on housebreaking Yorkies
  • Do’s for housebreaking Yorkies
  • Don’ts for housebreaking Yorkies
  • Housebreaking Yorkies — the best way
  • Housebreaking Yorkies — the worst way
  • Big mistakes when housebreaking Yorkies

You could (and need to) go on and on and on.

Notice that these titles are very close to one another, and the articles are probably going to be very repetitive.

That’s okay! As long as you don’t cut and paste from one article to the next. Or (worse!) from someone else’s content to your article.

One, that’s unethical. Two, Google knows! And Google punishes you by not ranking that page for that keyword phrase. It’s called “duplicate content”, and it’s amazing how tight Google’s definition of duplicate content actually is.

A lot of people rightly wonder why you would even write essentially the same information in ten different articles with slightly different keyword phrases in the title and in the body copy.

You’re not writing these articles for inclusion in an encyclopedia! These are for the Internet. You’re trying to catch as many searches as possible. “Housebreaking Yorkies — the best way” is going to catch–or be ranked for–a slightly different set of search requests than “Do’s for housebreaking Yorkies”, even though they will essentially contain the same information.
